A suspect has been charged with stealing a windscreen worth nearly £2,000 from a repair specialist he met in Edenbridge.
The incident was reported to have happened in Hever Road on 16 December 2024, and an investigation commenced to identify and locate the owner of the car.
A suspicious vehicle was spotted by patrols in the town on Tuesday 4 January.
Further enquiries resulted in the arrest of a man two days later.
Charlie O’Driscoll, of Hever Road, Edenbridge, was later charged with making off without payment, possession of cannabis, and driving whilst disqualified.
The 44 year old has been released on bail pending a hearing at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on 7 April.
