A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Herne Bay.
Shortly before 8am on Monday 5 September 2022, Kent Police was called to a report a woman had sustained injuries at a property in Central Parade.
Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the woman was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
A man, who is known to the victim, was later arrested in connection with the incident.
Following an investigation by the East Kent Vulnerability Investigation Team, Ian McQuaide has been charged with attempted murder, controlling or coercive behaviour, assault, making threats to kill and causing grievous bodily harm.
The 34-year-old, of Forrester Close, Canterbury, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 7 September and was remanded in custody to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday 5 October.
