Officers have charged and remanded a suspect in relation to a serious assault in Maidstone earlier this month.
Kent Police was called just after 11.30pm on Friday 8 May 2026 to a report of a wounded man on Broadway Bridge, with an injury consistent with a stab wound.
It is alleged an earlier verbal altercation had taken place between two men, believed to be known to one another, on The Broadway.
During the disagreement, the suspect is reported to have stabbed the victim and left the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
Patrols attended the scene alongside paramedics where the victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries. He has since been discharged.
Following initial enquiries, a man was arrested on Friday 15 May in connection to the incident.
Sonny Manville, 24, of no fixed address, was later charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday 18 May and has since been remanded to custody pending a further hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 15 June.
