Man charged in Greatstone investigation

A man has appeared in court after being charged by detectives investigating an incident in Greatstone.
A woman was walking along a footpath in a woodland area at the end of Dunes Road, between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Saturday 13 May 2023 when she was assaulted by a man she did not know.
The victim ran from the scene and the police were alerted. She later attended hospital for treatment.
Charge
Following an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, Jack Usher has been charged with attempted rape.
The 18-year-old, of Marsh Crescent, New Romney, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Friday 19 May and was remanded in custody to appear before Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 19 June.
