A robbery suspect had been charged and remanded in custody after a stolen bicycle was recovered by officers in Tunbridge Wells.
The bike was located less than 24 hours after a victim was reportedly threatened in Southborough.
The teenager had been with friends during the evening of Monday 19 February 2024 and was walking with the bike, when it is alleged they were approached by the suspect in an area near The Ridgeway.
The suspect is said to have pushed the victim, before stealing the bike and riding it away.
On Tuesday 20 February, enquiries by investigating officers led to the identification of the stolen bike which will be returned to its rightful owner.
George Ames, 24, of Colebrook Road, Tunbridge Wells was arrested and charged with robbery. He was also charged with theft, in connection with an allegation he stole alcohol from a Tesco store on 19 February.
Mr Ames appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 21 February and was remanded in custody.
His next hearing is at Maidstone Crown Court on 18 March.
