Man released in investigation into Broadstairs death

A man has been released under investigation while officers continue their enquiries following the death of a man in Broadstairs.

Kent Police was called to a report of concern for a person in the Ranelagh Grove area of St Peter’s at 7.41am on Wednesday 14 October 2026.

Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 30s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.

Initial enquiries were completed and a 61 year old man from the local area was arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been released under investigation.

Chief Inspector Ian Swallow said: 'While enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, we would like to reassure members of the local community that there is nothing to suggest any wider threat to the public following this incident.'
