The fight against those suspected of fuelling crime through the supply of class A and B drugs has continued with two further arrests in Medway.
On Monday 18 November 2024, investigators detained a man in Chatham High Street for a search. They seized seven bags of a substance that was analysed and found to be a synthetic drug also known as 'spice'.
This enforcement was followed three days later by the execution of search warrants at addresses in Chatham and Strood. Quantities of cocaine and cannabis were recovered at the latter premises along with a mobile phone. Two men were arrested and taken into custody.
John Wray, 45, of Meadowbank Road, Chatham, was later charged with possessing 'spice' (a class B drug) with intent to supply.
Investigators charged Wayne Albone, 37, of Albert Place, Strood, with being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
Both men appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 22 November. They were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 20 December.
