Two men have been arrested after a vehicle was stolen from a driveway in Sheerness and recovered by officers on the same day.
The silver Range Rover was reported stolen at around 5.20am on Thursday 24 October 2024, having been taken overnight.
Officers carried out enquiries and identified a Peugeot they believed was linked to the theft and this car was stopped on the A249 near Detling Hill at around 3.40pm.
The vehicle was searched by police and officers used the information stored in the car’s Sat Nav to search areas the vehicle had recently been driven to. They then found the stolen car parked in a car park near Ruby Close, Sittingbourne.
A 21-year-old man from Sheerness and a 23-year-old man from London were both arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and going equipped for theft.
The 23-year-old man was additionally arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife. Both men remain in custody at this time.
