Residents and visitors to Thanet are being reminded to make sure their vehicles are secure following recent thefts from cars and a van.
On 16 June 2023, two men were seen trying car doors in Birchington and, two days later, a car in Roxburgh Road, Westgate-on-Sea had cash stolen from inside.
Also on 18 June, a van had tools stolen from inside in Beach Road, Westgate-on-Sea and on the 20 June a handbag was stolen from a car in Brecon Square, Ramsgate.
Inspector Jim Woodward, of Thanet Community Safety Unit, said: 'I urge vehicle owners to remove anything of value from their cars or vans when they are away from the vehicle and leave nothing on show.
'Ensure all doors are locked and windows are fully closed. If possible, park in a garage, a well-lit secure car park or an area covered by CCTV.'
Anyone who sees any suspicious activity should report it through the Kent Police website, or by calling 999 if a crime is in progress.
