A knife suspect has been arrested and charged following a foot chase in Marden by a police community support officer.
Patrols, assisted by the PCSO, attended the village train station on Monday 11 March 2024, after a report of suspicious activity in an area where bicycles are left.
Three people were stopped and spoken to, one of whom is reported to have run from the scene.
He was pursued by the PCSO and arrested with the assistance of a police constable. A machete style knife was seized from a nearby area.
On Tuesday 12 March, Alfie Chandler was charged with possessing a knife in a public place.
Mr Chandler, 18, of Forge Close, Five Oak Green is currently bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 2 April.
