Police action results in thousands confiscated from Medway drug dealer

The frontman of a Medway drug network who was jailed following a Kent Police investigation has now been ordered to pay back more than £110,000.

Frank Harris distributed large quantities of cocaine for financial gain between 2023 and 2025.

On 22 December 2023, officers stopped Harris in a car in Sedley Close, Gillingham. Following a search of this vehicle a phone with a number connected to a drug line was located. Harris was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

A further search of his home address in Cherry Orchard Drive, Rainham, led to the discovery and seizure of £3,945 in two cash bundles.
Harris was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.

This resulted in the drug line being dismantled, however in 2024 officers became aware of a new network which had similarities to Harris’s operation.

Detectives quickly established that he had reactivated the line while awaiting trial.

His role involved recruiting and coordinating runners, marketing the class A drug to users and arranging sales.

On 14 April 2025, police returned to Harris’s home and during a search a number of luxury items were seized. These included clothing, trainers, jewellery and watches along with three large bundles of cash totalling £28,605.

Harris was found hiding in a nearby property and within the main bedroom, there was wrapping material stuffed behind the headboard of the bed containing remnants of white powder. The same material was located in a holdall bag elsewhere in the property. Enquiries established it had been used to hold kilo blocks of cocaine.
Harris was again charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of criminal property.

Jailed

At Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 13 February 2026, 33 year old Harris pleaded guilty to all four charges and was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment.

Money confiscated

On 11 August, the case returned to court after Kent Police applied for the money made by Harris in drug dealing to be confiscated.

Harris must now pay £111,672 within 30 days of the hearing or face a longer jail sentence.

Detective Inspector Dave Godfrey said:

‘After the money and luxury goods were found during searches of Harris’s home, our financial investigators tracked how he could be in possession of such wealth and it all came down to the same answer: he broke the law. ‘Much like the remnants of cocaine left in the wrapping material found, money obtained through criminal means tends to leave clues behind, which our team are trained to find and track. ‘By bringing these findings to court and using powers under the Proceeds of Crime Act, it ensures that any money that criminals like Harris had hoped to use to restart a drugs network with, is now confiscated and unavailable.’
