A police dog helped officers in Gravesend locate drugs hidden inside a property.
Officers were at the house in Kitchener Avenue on Monday 11 September as part of an ongoing and unrelated investigation. On arrival a man was witnessed acting suspiciously. He was searched and arrested after 13 wraps of class A drugs were found.
Police Dog Tilly then searched the property and led her handler to a bedroom where she alerted the officer to a purse along with other items. Officers found three balls of suspected cocaine and heroin, and approximately £5,000 in cash. Tilly also located cannabis that had been concealed under a kickboard in the kitchen. A second man at the property was arrested.
The suspects, aged 45 and 46, were detained on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. The 46-year-old was also arrested in connection with a robbery, threats to kill, and an assault that are reported to have taken place on 9 September 2023.
Both men have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
