A half kilogram of cannabis and a ‘zombie’ knife have been seized and three arrests made during a targeted day of action in Tonbridge.
Proactive patrols spotted two teenagers behaving suspiciously near Tonbridge train station on Monday 18 May 2026.
Searches carried out by officers led to the seizure of a large knife and a substantial quantity of cannabis.
A 17 year old, from Ticehurst, Sussex, was arrested for possessing a bladed weapon in public and possession of cannabis.
A 16 year old, from Bromley, London, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
Both have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
Officers carried out 16 stops and searches in the space of just a few hours, which also saw them arrest a 44 year old man wanted on recall to prison. He has since been remanded to custody.
Four other people found to be in possession of cannabis were issued Community Resolution Orders.
PS Charlie Dyson, from the Neighbourhood Task Force for Tonbridge, said:
‘Our teams are dedicated to keeping communities safe and will continue to stop and search anyone behaving suspiciously in a bid to take dangerous items – and people – off the streets.’
