Following a proactive stop, officers from Ashford’s local policing team have recovered weapons and suspected drugs.
While on patrol on Alfred Road on Saturday 24 January 2026, officers stopped a man riding an electric bike which did not confirm to e-bike legislation.
The individual was detained and officers seized two mobile phones and approximately £200 in cash alongside suspected heroin and cannabis. He was also allegedly riding while disqualified.
He was arrested at the scene and a subsequent search of a property resulted in the recovery of further suspected drugs, a mobile phone, weighing scales and a knife.
The next day, Peter Vincent, 38, of Little Chequers, Wye, was charged with offences including drug possession with intent to supply and driving while disqualified.
He was remanded into custody and appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday 26 January. He will appear next before Canterbury Crown Court on 23 February.
