A suspected burglar has been charged following a pursuit in Medway.
On Friday 2 August 2024, a Chatham resident received notifications on her phone that her bank cards had been used to make fraudulent purchases in the town centre.
The victim contacted Kent Police to report they had been stolen during a burglary at her home address near The Brook.
Three days later, a second resident living near Cross Street found her Nissan had been taken, after the keys had been stolen during a reported break-in.
The police were alerted and, around an hour later, officers saw the vehicle in Bank Street and requested the driver to stop.
The vehicle continued and was allegedly driven in a dangerous manner, pursued by the patrol.
The Nissan stopped in Walderslade Road and the occupants left on foot. Two people were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Connor Robinson, of no fixed address, was later charged with two burglaries, fraud, theft of a car, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving without insurance and failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis.
Mr Robinson, 29, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 6 August. He was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday 2 September.
A 27-year-old woman from Chatham who was also detained, was bailed to return to the police station on 4 November, pending further investigation.
