A rapid response from officers in Thanet has resulted in a suspect being arrested less than five minutes after a crime was reported.
Kent Police was called after it was believed that attempts were being made to steal a parked car in Margate at 12.47am on Thursday 14 September 2023.
Local response officers, who were on patrol nearby, quickly attended the Milton Avenue area and arrested a man within three minutes of the emergency call coming in.
The 35-year-old man from Margate was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft of a vehicle. He was further arrested on suspicion of a racially-aggravated public order offence while being transported to custody.
He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
