An arrest has been made after a local officer on foot patrol in Dover spotted a suspect wanted for a robbery.
At around 5am on Thursday 10 October, Kent Police received a report that money had been stolen from a man and he had been assaulted during the incident in Marine Parade in the town. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment to his head injuries.
Officers attended the scene and carried out a number of enquiries relating to CCTV coverage and witnesses.
Later that day, a neighbourhood officer was walking through Pencester Gardens, when he saw a person matching the description of a man wanted for the robbery.
A 27-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested in connection with the robbery and for separate shoplifting and card fraud matters.
He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
