A second suspect has been charged following a report of an aggravated burglary in Maidstone during which a victim suffered a serious hand injury.
At around 9am on 21 March 2025, Kent Police was called to the incident at an address near the A20 Ashford Road.
It is alleged a man posing as a delivery driver and an associate threatened the occupants. One of the victims was reportedly assaulted with a knife and a quantity of cash was stolen.
Officers attended the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital for treatment.
On Monday 7 April, a suspect was arrested. Lenard Coates, of London Road, Mitcham, Surrey, was later charged with aggravated burglary, wounding with intent and possessing a bladed article in a public place.
The 22 year old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 9 April.
Another man was previously detained on Friday 28 March in connection with the incident. James Baseden, 36, of Hollingworth Road, Maidstone, was charged with robbery.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 29 March, where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 25 April.
