A prolific thief from Canterbury has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) preventing him from entering multiple supermarkets and shopping centres across Kent.
The order was issued to Daniel Rogers on 5 August following a Kent Police investigation into a prolonged period of thefts. Between 28 August 2024, and 7 December 2025, Rogers committed 27 theft offences at retail premises across the county.
On 12 July 2025, Rogers entered an Asda store and stole a Henry vacuum cleaner valued at £159. He returned to the same store weeks later and stole multiple food and drink items.
He was sentenced in February 2026 for these offences and ordered to pay compensation. As part of the court proceedings, officers gathered evidence linking Rogers to multiple thefts and made an application for a CBO.
Incidents that formed the application included thefts at Ashford Designer Outlet. On 4 July 2025, he stole clothing worth around £300 after distracting a member of staff by asking for assistance before running from the store with the items of clothing.
On a separate occasion on 14 August 2025, in Bluewater shopping centre, he stole shampoo to the total value £115, concealed the bottles on his person, and left the store.
As part of the conditions of his CBO, he is prevented from entering Ashford Designer Outlet, Bluewater, or any Tesco, Aldi, Asda, TK Maxx and Sainsbury’s across the whole of Kent. If Rogers, 36, of Querns Road, Canterbury, breaches his CBO, he is committing a criminal offence and can be arrested and returned to court, where he risks imprisonment.
Police Constable Chris Green said:
‘Securing this Criminal Behaviour Order gives officers additional powers to protect businesses from further losses. We will take robust action and seek to bring him back before court at the earliest opportunity if he breaches these conditions. ‘Rogers presents a real problem for retailers, their staff, and the wider community. He has repeatedly targeted businesses across Kent and has become verbally or physically abusive when challenged.’
