Twenty people have been reported for speeding after officers held a two-day traffic operation in Wingham.
Following concerns reported to Kent Police, neighbourhood officers attended the village on 10 and 11 August 2024 to monitor the speeds of passing vehicles in the High Street.
A total of 20 vehicles were seen exceeding the speed limit, including one van, one motorcycle and 18 cars.
The highest speed recorded was 38mph in the 20mph zone.
Inspector Leigh Woolnough said: ‘Our officers will regularly carry out traffic operations around the district to ensure motorists are adhering to the law. Speed limits are there for a reason and anyone found disregarding them will leave themselves open to a fine and points on their licence at the very least.’
