A stolen bike has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner within hours of a theft in Tonbridge.
Kent Police was called just before 11am on Tuesday 30 January 2024 to a report of a bicycle having been stolen from outside a store in Angel Lane.
Officers attended and carried out initial enquiries, including a review of CCTV.
Proactive patrols later saw a man with a bike matching the description in Lyon’s Crescent. He was stopped and arrested on suspicion of theft of a pedal cycle.
A subsequent search resulted in the man being arrested further for possession of a bladed article and shoplifting.
The 20-year-old, from Edenbridge, was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
