Stolen digger recovered in Dartford

A stolen digger has been swiftly recovered by officers on patrol in Dartford.
At around 12.30am on Thursday 3 September 2026, they spotted a suspicious van towing an empty trailer along Hawley Road.
A short time later, the same Ford Transit van was located on Green Street Green Road, this time carrying a digger on the trailer.
Reported stolen
The constables followed the vehicle until it stopped in Darenth Park Avenue and enquiries were completed that confirmed the digger had been reported stolen.
A 37-year-old woman from Orpington was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and driving without insurance.
She has since been released on police bail while enquiries into the incident are completed.
