A suspect has been remanded in custody following allegations he repeatedly stamped on a man’s head in Maidstone.
Aaron Coxhead was arrested after CCTV operators alerted police to a violent disturbance in Week Street.
Kent Police was called to the area shortly after 1am on Tuesday 13 February 2024, to a report the victim had fallen to the floor after being punched.
It is alleged the man was then kicked and punched, before the suspect jumped and stamped on his head with both feet.
Attending officers detained the suspect at 1.10am and he was taken into custody.
Mr Coxhead, 34, of Victoria Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottingham was later charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on the following day and was remanded in custody. His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on 11 March.
The victim, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
