Suspect arrested following reported assault in Canterbury

A suspect has been arrested by officers investigating a reported assault in Canterbury.

The incident took place at around 3am on Saturday 12 September 2026, near to the corner of St Margaret’s Street and Watling Street.

A man in his 40s had been socialising nearby and it is alleged he was assaulted.

He attended hospital for treatment to facial injuries and the incident was later reported to police.

Suspect arrested

Initial enquiries were completed and on Monday 21 September, a 32 year old man from the local area was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
