A suspect alleged to have been brandishing what appeared to be a firearm in the centre of Maidstone has been arrested and charged.
Kent Police was called at around 7pm on Monday 16 September 2024, to a report that a man in Knightrider Street had been seen in possession with what was described as a handgun.
Patrols attended and at 7.20pm Josh Edwards was arrested and taken into custody.
Following a search of the area, officers then located a suspected air weapon in a bush.
Mr Edwards, 32, of Fairmeadow, Maidstone was charged with possessing an imitation firearm in a public place and was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 18 September.
