Charges have been secured against a man who allegedly assaulted a woman near a petrol station in Snodland.
Kent Police was called just before 6.30pm on Tuesday 23 January 2024 to a report of a disturbance behind a fuelling station on Holborough Road.
It is reported that a man approached a woman and dragged her along the floor before attempting to take her phone. The woman, who is known to the suspect, sustained minor injuries as a result.
Officers attended and carried out an area search, which resulted in a suspect being arrested within 20 minutes of the 999 call being placed.
Odyssius Ojo, of Thorold Road, Chatham, was later charged with assault by beating and remanded in custody pending a court hearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 25 January.
The 21-year-old pleaded not guilty and is due to appear before the same court on Friday 7 June to stand trial.
