A suspect has been charged in connection with a reported disturbance in Folkestone town centre.
Kent Police was called at 11.53pm on Friday 20 September 2024 to reports that a man with an axe was outside a premises on Tontine Street.
It was alleged that the man threatened people who were known to him following an altercation earlier that evening, before leaving the scene.
Officers attended and initial enquiries led to the arrest of a man nearby a short while later. An axe was recovered, together with a quantity of cannabis.
On Sunday 22 September, James Brown, of Warren Close, was charged with possession of a blade or sharply pointed article, possession of a class B drug and a public order offence.
Mr Brown, 39, appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court the following day and was bailed to appear before Canterbury Crown Court at a later date.
