A suspect has been charged in connection with burglary offences following a proactive search by officers in Chatham.
Patrols were alerted to suspicious behaviour in the Rainham Road area at around 11pm on Thursday 6 March 2025.
A man was detained by officers. Following a search, items including gloves, a balaclava and pliers were recovered.
A metal pole with a sharp pointed end and a concealed blade on a keyring were also seized.
The following day, Rahid Anwar, 42, was charged with going equipped for burglary and possession of an offensive weapon.
Mr Anwar, of Palm Drive, Rochester, was also charged in relation to a burglary reported in Maidstone Road, Chatham in November 2024.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 8 March and is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 4 April.
