Detectives investigating a murder in Dover have charged a suspect.
Kent Police was called to a property in Rose Gardens, Eythorne, on Thursday 29 January 2026, following reports of an assault.
Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 20s was confirmed deceased. The man’s next of kin has been informed.
A man, who is believed to be known to the victim, was arrested at the scene in connection with the incident.
On Friday 30 January 2026, Stephen Boyd Rooke, of Rose Gardens, Eythorne, was charged with murder. Mr Rooke, 68, was remanded in custody and will appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 31 January.
Investigators are continuing to appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact them. Residents with private CCTV and motorists with dashcam are also asked to check for relevant footage.
