A suspected Maidstone car thief has been charged and remanded into custody.
Liam Wells, 31, was arrested in connection with the theft of a BMW X5 from a driveway in Gault Close, Bearsted.
The vehicle was reported to have been stolen late on Friday 30 August 2024. On the following day, it was found abandoned nearby.
On Wednesday 11 September, officers detained Mr Wells at an address in Maidstone.
He was later charged with aggravated vehicle taking, as well as driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and possession of cannabis.
On Friday 13 September, the suspect appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody.
His next hearing will be at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 19 September.
