A man has been charged in connection with a firearms incident in Gravesend.
Kent Police was called at 6.10am on Saturday 2 September 2023, to the Pelham Road area following a report a man had been seen carrying a weapon.
It is alleged the suspect pointed the weapon, which resembled a rifle, in the direction of several people including three victims at a bus stop.
On the evening of Tuesday 5 September, armed patrols made two arrests at separate addresses in Gravesend.
Danny Collins, 32, of Heath Lane, Dartford, has now been charged with three counts of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, as well as two counts of possessing an offensive weapon, and a charge of affray.
He was further charged with two counts of assault, in relation to a separate incident. This is alleged to have happened at around 4.10am on Saturday 2 September in Gravesend High Street. Two women are reported to have been assaulted.
The suspect is remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 8 September.
The second man arrested, aged 29 and from Gravesend, has been bailed pending further enquiries until 1 December.
