Suspect in court after drugs and knife seized in Gillingham

A suspect has appeared in court after officers recovered drugs, cash and a knife in Gillingham.
Patrols attended May Road at around 3pm on Wednesday 5 August 2026, following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area.
A man on foot was detained and a subsequent search uncovered cocaine and heroin and a mobile phone.
A large sum of cash, scales and a knife were later recovered from an address in the town.
Charged
Kirk Bailey, 36, was charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin as well as possessing both with intent to supply them.
Mr Bailey, of Bower Lane, Maidstone, was also charged with possessing criminal property (namely the seized cash) and possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 7 August, where he was released on conditional bail until his next hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 4 September.
