A car believed to have been stolen from Ramsgate has been recovered and suspected thief arrested following proactive work from Thanet officers.
Patrols became aware of a suspicious black Vauxhall Astra in Margate Road, Broadstairs shortly after 3pm on Monday 18 May 2026.
Officers followed the vehicle to a nearby car park, where it came to a stop. The driver got out and left the scene at haste.
Following a short foot pursuit, a 24 year old woman was arrested near Star Lane on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and two driving offences. The car was seized.
The woman was taken into custody and later bailed while enquiries continue.
