Suspected Chatham drug dealer charged after car stops

The fight against drugs in Chatham has continued with two proactive arrests for the same suspected dealer.

On 1 June 2026, officers were on patrol in the town centre when they became suspicious of the driver of a black Ford Focus.

Arrests

After bringing the car to a stop, the occupant got out of the vehicle and was detained.

It is reported two officers were injured during the arrest. Class A drugs and cash were also seized. The man was released on conditional bail while enquiries were completed.

On Monday 3 August, the suspect was arrested for a second time as he travelled into Medway as a passenger in a taxi. The constables also recovered further cash and a quantity of drugs.

Charged

On the same day, Shaquille Kabbia was charged with 10 offences including possession with intent to supply heroin, crack cocaine and diamorphine; assaulting and resisting an emergency worker; and driving offences.

The 20 year old, of Eaton Place, Aylesford, was remanded in custody after appearing at Medway Magistrates’ Court. His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 1 September.
