Suspected county line dealers targeted in Maidstone

Two suspected county line drug dealers from Maidstone have appeared in court.

On Monday 9 January 2023, a search warrant was executed by Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team at a business in Upper Stone Street.

Investigators detained two men who were present and they were taken into custody. The officers also seized mobile phones from living accommodation at the premises and at a town centre hotel room.

Charged

Damien Downs, of Anson Road, London and Richard Keltie, of Kingsley Road, Maidstone were later charged with being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and being concerned in the supply of heroin.

Mr Downs, aged 41 and Mr Keltie, aged 49 appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 11 January, where they were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 8 February.
