A suspected shoplifter has been arrested and stolen goods recovered following a quick response by police in Ashford.
Officers were called to the town centre at around 4.45pm on Tuesday 16 January following reports of a disturbance in the High Street.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of theft and items of clothing believed to have been stolen were seized as part of an ongoing investigation.
Attending officers also arrested a 41-year-old woman on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.
Both women remain in custody while enquiries continue.
