Three suspected shoplifters are alleged to have travelled from Croydon to Tunbridge Wells to steal clothing which was then concealed in a baby’s pushchair
The women were detained on Tuesday 17 December 2024, after items worth more than £300 were reportedly stolen from a TK Maxx store in Longfield Road.
The stolen goods are said to have had their security tags removed before they were hidden in an empty pushchair.
Police were alerted at around 1pm, after security staff at the shop apprehended one of the suspects.
Responding patrols carried out searches at other retail areas nearby and successfully located and detained the other women.
A vehicle linked to them was also located, where further suspicious items were seized.
Aged in their 30s and from the Croydon and Carshalton areas, all three suspects were taken into custody.
They are currently bailed with conditions to return to a police station on 3 January 2025.
