Almost 30 bank and loyalty cards have been seized from a suspected fraudster as his car underwent a routine repair in Tunbridge Wells.
It is reported that two staff members initially located a number of bank cards, suspected to be stolen or fraudulently obtained, concealed within a car fuse box as they undertook a headlamp bulb change.
Kent Police was called to Halfords in Dowding Way at around 4.15pm on Wednesday 27 November 2024.
Officers attended the scene and a 34 year old man from Gillingham was arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
A search at a property linked to the suspect led to the seizure of more cards, two mobile phones, and a laptop.
The man has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
