A suspected stolen car has been seized after it was stopped by Kent Police officers in Dartford.
At 11.30pm on Tuesday 16 November 2021, the constables were completing a proactive patrol of the Crossways Boulevard area when they noticed a black Ford Mondeo was travelling without its headlights on.
The vehicle was subsequently pulled over, and checks carried out at the scene revealed the registered owner lived in Berkshire.
A scan of the driver’s fingerprints confirmed he was not the registered keeper. A small quantity of cannabis was also seized and he was detained on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, possessing a class B drug and driving without a licence or insurance.
The 23-year-old, from Greenhithe, has since been released from custody while enquiries, which include efforts to locate the owner of the car, continue.
