Three suspected stolen motorbikes have been recovered by Maidstone officers as they continue to crack down on vehicle thefts.
In the early hours of Saturday 10 October 2026, police received a report of two people stealing a motorbike from outside a property in Boxley Road.
Officers were on the scene within minutes and traced the stolen bike to Mote Park, where it was recovered and returned to its owner.
Despite an extensive area search, which included the deployment of drones, the suspects remain outstanding.
An investigation is ongoing to identify and locate those involved.
Anyone with information is urged to call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 10-0198.
At 4.32pm on Sunday 11 October, it is reported two boys stole a motorbike from a community centre car park on Cumberland Avenue.
Patrols attended the scene and quickly located a group of teenagers near Clay Gate in Mote Park, where a 14 year old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
The next day, a 15 year old boy was also arrested in connection to the alleged theft.
Following further enquiries, officers recovered the suspected stolen motorbike from a garage near Kent Avenue.
On Friday 9 October, police were made aware of a motorbike having been stolen from an industrial estate near Bircholt Road.
Initial enquiries, and help from a member of the public, enabled officers to recover the bike just two days later and they have since returned it to its owner.
Chief Inspector Adam Duke said:
'Kent Police is aware of community concerns about motorcycle thefts in Maidstone, and local officers are working proactively to investigate reports and identify and arrest those responsible. 'We would like to thank residents for their vigilance and for reporting suspicious activity. Following information provided by a member of the public, a stolen motorcycle was recovered and returned to its owner shortly after it was taken. 'Our advice to motorcycle owners remains to lock, chain and cover their vehicles, store them in a secure outbuilding where possible, and consider using alarms, tracking devices, immobilisers or property-marking products to help deter thieves. 'We understand having a motorcycle stolen can be a distressing experience, and anyone who becomes a victim of theft can be assured that officers will pursue all available lines of enquiry and work to bring offenders to justice.'
