Two suspects have been charged following a report of an attempted robbery at a shop in New Ash Green.
The incident is alleged to have occurred at around 2.30pm on Thursday 24 April 2025 at Morrisons Daily in The Row.
It is reported threats were made to a member of staff for money, before the suspects left the scene.
Initial enquiries led to the arrest of a man, with the assistance of colleagues from Merseyside Police.
Liam Whyte, of Queens Drive in Stoneycroft, Liverpool, was later charged on Sunday 27 April with attempted robbery and remanded to custody pending a hearing at Knowsley Magistrates’ Court in Liverpool on Monday 28 April. The 34-year-old has since been remanded pending a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 27 May.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a second man three days later.
Frank Phillips, of Harrogate Drive in Liverpool, was later charged with attempted robbery and remanded to custody pending a hearing at Knowsley Magistrates’ Court in Liverpool on Wednesday 30 April. The 44-year-old has since been remanded pending a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on 27 May.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and locate a possible third suspect.
