Three men have been charged in connection with the theft of multiple vehicles in Sittingbourne.
Between 14 September 2023 and 9 April 2024, enquiries were carried out into reports of multiple cars being stolen from Tunbridge Wells, Bromley and elsewhere in the South East.
A Kent Police investigation led to two men being detained at an address in Lower Road, Teynham near Sittingbourne on 12 April 2024 - with officers arresting a third man in the same location the following day.
Searches resulted in the recovery of a vehicle reported stolen from Bromley in January 2024 and a car allegedly stolen from Essex in October 2023. Components suspected to have originated in vehicles stolen from Tunbridge Wells, London, Essex, and Hampshire, between October 2023 and April 2024, were seized. A cannister containing a chemical irritant spray was further recovered.
On Wednesday 5 March 2025, Peter Clarkson, of Noreen Avenue, Sheerness, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.
William Dove, of Queen’s Road, Peckham in London, was charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.
Marshall Underdown, of Harris Road, Sheerness, was charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles, handling stolen goods and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Mr Clarkson, 47; Mr Dove, 40 and Mr Underdown, 19, were bailed with conditions to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 11 April 2025.
