A Swanley drug dealer who stored firearms in his van has been jailed.
Luke Carney was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
On the morning of 6 November 2025, officers attended his home address in Alder Way where they executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant.
Carney was absent but during the search, weapons were seized from a van registered in his name.
The following day, the 28 year old was detained on the M4 by a patrol from South Wales Police.
He was later charged with possession of a prohibited weapon (namely a revolver), possession of a firearm without a certificate and possession of a shotgun without a certificate.
Carney was released on conditional court bail and on 11 December, a further search warrant was executed at his home address,
Approximately £12,000 in cash and counterfeit money, drug paraphernalia and four mobile phones were seized. Carney was arrested and later charged with possession of criminal property and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
He was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court on Monday 8 June 2026.
Detective Sergeant Tony Hatcher said:
'Any drug dealer deserves to be in jail and one who is in possession of lethal weapons can expect a lengthy prison sentence. Our officers were determined to bring Carney to justice and evidence of his offending was recovered during two searches of his home . 'The misuse of Class A drugs brings misery to families and the wider community and Swanley will undoubtedly be a safer place while this man is in jail.’
