Two swift arrests have been made after an alleged attempt to rob a 14 year old boy of his bike in Rochester.
Kent Police was called just after 6.30pm on Sunday 2 March 2025 to a report of a teenager being assaulted in the Star Hill area of the town, near to Victoria Street.
The boy was waiting at traffic lights with his bike before he was approached by a man and a woman on foot. It was alleged that threats were made to the victim and he was assaulted, sustaining injuries to his face, before his cycle was taken from him.
A man in a nearby car reportedly got out of his vehicle and spoke to the man and woman, before the bike was returned to the teenager. All parties then left the scene.
Officers attended and, a short while later, a 47 year old man and 49 year old woman from the local area were arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. They remain in custody pending further enquiries.
Investigators are urging the member of the public who intervened, and any other witnesses to the incident, to contact them. Anyone with relevant information, including dashcam footage, should call Kent Police on 01634 702209 quoting 46/35515/25.
