Arrests have been made by officers in Hythe within 20 minutes of an attempted robbery report.
Police were called to the High Street just before 5pm on Thursday 20 June 2024, after it was alleged that teenage boys had entered a premises and removed alcohol - for which they had not paid - from the store.
It was reported that the group had become verbally abusive when they were declined a sale of vaping products - after they were unable to prove their age - and that a knife had been produced, causing a staff member to fear for his safety.
Officers attended and, following a brief search of the area, arrested two boys on suspicion of robbery, and one boy on suspicion of robbery and possession of a knife, at 5.05pm. A small knife and a bottle of vodka were recovered from the scene.
The boys, aged 14, 13 and 11, were later bailed pending further enquiries.
