Teenager arrested following reports of criminal damage in Swanley

A 15 year old boy has been arrested after several businesses were damaged with graffiti and paint in Swanley.

Kent Police is investigating several incidents of criminal damage which targeted premises in the town centre, as well as Swanley Recreation Ground, over the weekend of 19 and 20 September 2026.

British Transport Police is also investigating reports of graffiti being daubed at Swanley Train Station during the same period.

Arrested

As part of their investigations, officers have arrested a local boy. He has since been bailed.

Chief Inspector Paul Diddams said:

‘Investigations remain ongoing and my team will explore every line of enquiry available to bring those responsible to justice. ‘The impact of such criminal damage on our community is not lost on us, and we have worked with partner agencies as part of our enquiries to help ensure the vandalism and paint is cleaned up so people can continue to enjoy Swanley town centre and everything it has to offer.’

Local residents with private CCTV or drivers with dashcam, who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, are also asked to check for footage.
