Ten charges have been authorised against two men who are alleged to have burgled a home in Dartford before assaulting Kent Police officers.
Two televisions and two push bikes are reported to have been taken during a burglary in Shakespeare Road, which took place at around 3pm on Wednesday 28 April 2021.
Sylvester Chambers and Joseph Knight were arrested on suspicion of the offence later that afternoon and, while in Kent Police’s custody, both men are alleged to have assaulted police officers, causing no serious injuries.
Mr Knight, 38, of Alamein Gardens, Dartford, has since been charged with burglary, three counts of assaulting a police officer, a racially aggravated public order offence against a police officer, causing criminal damage to a police custody cell, possessing a knife in a public place and an additional public order offence.
Mr Chambers, 56, of Darenth Wood Road, Dartford, has been charged with burglary and assaulting a police officer.
Both men have been remanded in custody to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 30 April 2021.
