A decade of helping to improve the way Kent Police serves the public has been celebrated.
Gurvinder Sandher met with officers at Kent Police Headquarters to receive a special commendation from Chief Superintendent Samantha Price on Thursday 26 August 2021.
He is the departing chair of Kent Police’s Independent Police Advisory Group IPAG, a position he has held for 10 years.
The IPAG is a group of volunteers who help the force improve its services by acting as critical friends.
Thanks to Mr Sandher’s leadership, Kent Police has been able to build relationships with communities which have, historically, been underrepresented.
He has also played an important role in improving diversity and has actively supported the current ‘More than the Badge’ recruitment campaign.
Chief Superintendent Price, Kent Police’s Divisional Commander for North Kent, said: ‘Gurvinder has made an outstanding contribution to our force over the past 10 years and it was a pleasure to formally recognise all that he has helped us achieve.
‘He has never shied away from providing us with constructive feedback and we are a stronger organisation as a result.’
