Three teenagers have been charged after bikes and mopeds were allegedly stolen across Dover.
Kent Police was called to Monins Road, Dover, on Friday 22 May 2026 after it was reported that a black Honda moped was stolen overnight. On Wednesday 27 May 2026, officers were on patrol in the Capel-le-Ferne area when they observed two males in possession of a moped that matched the description of the stolen vehicle. They were arrested and taken into custody.
The two teenage boys from Dover, aged 14 and 17, were charged with multiple offences including theft of motor vehicle, driving without a licence, and taking a motor vehicle without consent. They have been released on bail and will attend Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Friday 28 August 2026.
In a separate incident, Kent Police was called to Oswald Road, Dover, on Saturday 23 May 2026 after it was reported a motorbike had been stolen from outside of a residential property. CCTV enquiries identified that the bike had been taken in the early hours of the morning after damage was reportedly caused to it.
The vehicle was found discarded nearby the following day. A suspect was identified and on Wednesday 27 May a 17 year old boy was arrested in connection with the theft.
He was later charged with a breach of a community protection notice alongside aggravated vehicle taking and will appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Tuesday 23 June 2026.
