Three people charged following Hythe assault

Multiple suspects have been charged in relation to a serious assault in Hythe.

Kent Police was called at 10pm on Saturday 28 June 2026 following the incident in Red Lion Square. Patrols attended the scene and a man in his 40s later attended a local hospital with serious injuries. He has since been discharged.

Two men and a boy were later arrested in connection with the incident.

Charged

Robert Blanche, 36, of Reachfields, Hythe, Darren Blanche, 34, of Westbourne Gardens, Folkestone, and a 16-year-old boy were later charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

They appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 1 July, and the two men were remanded in custody. The 16-year-old boy has been released on conditional bail.

All three will appear next before Canterbury Crown Court on 3 August.
